Our New Favourite Place
We had lunch at this agriturismo located just outside Massa Martana today (22/7/12) with some friends/guests at Casa Lilla. We had been given good reviews from some other friends about this place and had tried to book a table several times earlier in the year. so we were looking forward to enjoying a long tasty lunch and I have to say we were not disappointed.
For antipasto we were served a few different types of focaccia with different toppings straight from the oven, also salami and prosciutto, dressed chickpeas (a revelation for me, so simple, just dressed with vinegar and a good oil, balanced perfectly), and grilled aubergine all very tasty. The pasta course was home-made pasta, ‘maltagliati‘ with zucchini, zucchini flowers and sausage, very enjoyable also. Secondo was slices of roast pork belly and roast chicken pieces served with a mixed dressed salad. Lastly, with the coffee, we were served a plate of profiteroles filled with crema.
Overall we enjoyed our meal and experience here and will be back, the service was friendly and it is very good value at 25 Euro per head including wine, water and coffee.
